A Pain In My Octo-poo-swa

So I'm working on my sculpted cake... first one EVER! ...whoot? Anyways the process starts with me making 4 pound cakes from scratch. please don't underestimate how long this takes.

So for anyone who's been lost in cornfield and hasn't seen the sun in the past five years let alone a caking show, here's the deal: make lots of pound cake, glue it together with icing then hack away at it.

post dirty icing.

With legs. 8 of em. man i'm beat. i don't want to roll out fondant tonight but i probably will.
b(-_^)d thumbs up! lets do this!

BobbleHead Part 2!

Wow this image looks horrible on here. If you would like to see a better quality image check out my deviant art page! http://squidlet.deviantart.com/ (horray shameless self promotion!)

This was rougher than it should have been predominately because I had to get it done for class and my failed attempt to do the whole thing in vector failed miserably. I really like working in vector but I felt the characters lost a lot of personality when I took away the thick sketchy lines.

The idea for this short little intro was to get to meet all the main characters within two pages. I thought it would be funny if the main characters blatantly broke down the 4th wall, since the first episode of anything always has an unreasonable amount of exposition that needs to be address. Sorry that sunshine is legless in the bottom left panel. I should fix that.

BobbleHead Part 1

So I guess I'm going to start at the beginning. Blogging Tarantino style I guess. This was 1 of a two part project I did where the objective was to create characters and a scene for a web published comic book.

My first idea was to do the whole thing in vector but that didn't work out so I wound up using original line work and then filling that in with sold color in photo shop. This image however is entirely vector. I would like to go back and illustrate all the characters in the same fashion that I illustrated the comic book pages.

The idea for the comic was to follow a group of people in their mid 20's and show the comedic effects of creative individuals forced to work crappy minimum wage jobs. The main character Bob (exciting!) is working on a project that could possibly be the worst idea ever conceived and the story line follows his misfortunes as he tries to realize his misguided dream.

The color pallet in this was inspired by FLCL.

Getting Started

So I'm really not awesome at blogging but I was informed that I should have a Blog so here it is. Hopefully post will become more interesting as time goes on and such. I'll just be posting different pictures including final pieces, sketches works in progress and some 3d stuff. enjoy.
